Kidz Board Application Process

What is the Kidz Board?

The Kidz Board is made up of up to 12 young people fromthe different regions that Whizz-Kidz delivers services in. Each Kidz Board member stays on the Kidz Board for a period of two years before we recruit again in their region. The role of each Kidz Board member is to:

  • Travel to and attend four residential Kidz Board meetings a year, and tell everybodyat the Kidz Board meetings what you have found out in your regional meetings.Kidz Board meetings are usually from Friday lunchtime to Sunday afternoon, and Whizz-Kidz pay for travel, food and accommodation for you and for one parent, guardian or other carer. If you are over 18 and do not require any healthcare support overnight then you may be able to attend Kidz Board without a parent or carer.
  • Work with your local delivery manager and visit as many regional events as you can – at least 4 per year.
  • Complete tasks in your region in between meetings, including helping to plan and improve Whizz-Kidz’s services, campaigning, raising awareness of Whizz-Kidz and other things.
  • Represent Whizz-Kidz at events and raise awareness of the charity. Some of these events will be in your region, and some of them you may need to travel to.
  • Be a part of the Leadership Award and work towards completing five different leadership modules during your time on the Kidz Board, using your experiences at meetings as well as other events you attend as a Whizz-Kidz Ambassador.

  • Be aged 14-23 at the time of your first meeting.
  • Live in the region you are applying to represent.

  • Be hardworking, and able to commit to attending meetings, and to spending time in between meetings on things that are agreed, e.g. planning a regional campaign.
