PRINCIPAL ROLE:
The Education Worker will conceive and deliver activities across a range of art forms which will stimulate and support learning in young people of all ages and abilities within Renfrewshire Arts & Museum venues.

Key tasks for which the postholder will be responsible:

responsibilities commensurate with the grade.

General / Ÿ  To work as part of the Arts & Museums team.
Ÿ  To contribute to the service planning and performance management processes and assist in the development of services to customers by contributing to the improvement of the services policies & procedures.
Ÿ  To contribute to retaining Charter Mark and other quality management processes.
Ÿ  To ensure that the principles of equality are an integral part of the delivery of services.
Ÿ  To help to achieve Best Value
Ÿ  To work with other services in education and leisure services; other council departments; and partners.
Ÿ  To work within the council’s policies, including the Code Of Conduct for staff.
Specific / Ÿ  To implement education programmes to achieve the highest standards of compliance with Health and Safety legislation, Child protection legislation, the Data Protection Act and other regulations.
Ÿ  To conceive, plan and deliver educational activities, events and programmes within Arts & Museums service venues targeted towards the needs of young people.
Ÿ  To work with colleagues (including teachers) to facilitate learning opportunities which support young peoples participation in Cultural Activities and support A Curriculum for Excellence.
Ÿ  To work actively with stakeholders, including teachers, school Extended Support Teams, colleagues with ELS, the wider community and other local and national partners to ensure the successful implementation of cultural programmes.
Ÿ  Contribute to the regular monitoring, self evaluation and reporting of cultural activities.
Ÿ  To contribute to the development of external funding bids.
Ÿ  To contribute to the interpretation and development of Renfrewshire Arts & Museums cultural resources for the benefit of young people.
Ÿ  To support the development and implementation of Renfrewshire Councils Cultural Strategy.
