PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In the field of ENT, I have assisted in a variety of operations including total laryngectomy, total maxillectomy, nasopharyngeal angiofibroma excision , partial parotidectomy, acoustic neuroma excision and glomus jugular excision.
I do many throat and neck operations including adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, UPPP, LAUPPP, palatal swellings excision, Oesphagoscopy, laryngoscopy, bronchoscopy, excision of laryngeal polyps, tracheostomy, submandibular sialadenectomy and thyroglossal cyst excision.
I do many nasal operations including submucous septal resection, turbinectomy, polypectomy, antral puncture and lavage, intranasal antrostomy, Caldwell Luc's, canalization of choanal atresia, excision of nasal, palatal & maxillary swellings, medial maxillectomy and FESS.
I do many ear operations including myringotomy and tube application, myringoplasty, tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, cortical mastoidectomy, modified and radical mastoidectomy and excision of pre-auricular sinus.
I attended the Neuro-otology clinics, the Botulinum toxin clinics and the weekly postgraduate meeting at North Riding Infirmary for two years. I attended the combined radiotherapy and the ENT clinics and the monthly ENT X-ray meeting at South Cleveland hospital , Middlesbrough, UK for two years. There is a dedicated temporal bone laboratory at the Infirmary which I used regularly.
I visited ManchesterUniversity ENT department for two weeks, CambridgeUniversity ENT department for a week and BirminghamUniversity ENT department for a week as a part of my M.D. Thesis. I attended the private clinic of Dr. Victor Kamami in Paris in the period December 18- 22 / 2001 seeing his laser UPPP & turbinectomy under local anesthesia .

M.Sc. Thesis 1990:
" Haemostatic disorders in recurrent epistaxis"
Tutor: Professor Aly Ragaie, AssuitUniversity.
From a sample of two hundred and fifty patients, fourteen percent revealed platelet dysaggregation. We therefore concluded that any case of recurrent attacks of epistaxis for a long duration and without local or general cause should be investigated for haemostatic disorder as a possible cause.
M.D. Thesis 1996:
" Radiological Evaluation of Patients for Cochlear Implantation "
The surgical findings of the cochlea were compared with the pre-operative CT findings in 335 patients from ENT departments of Manchester , Cambridge and BirminghamUniversities and North Riding Infirmary , UK. My joint supervisors were Mr. Maurice Hawthorne, North Riding Infirmary, UK and Professor Abd El-Mateen Moussa, Sohag Faculty of Medicine, South Valley University, Egypt.
