Part-Time Graphic Designer (Entry Level)

A successful candidate will have strong conceptual, creative and typographic skills to translate successful marketing ideas into effective visual solutions within the constraints of time and priority scheduling for print and web.

Under the direction of the Visual Design Coordinator, the Graphic Designer will assist the Genji Marketing Team with maintenance of the corporate website, development of illustrations, flyers, point-of-sale displays, internal newsletters, signage, and other promotional projects/duties as assigned.

This position requires strong professional work ethic, attention to details and the ability to successfully meet project deadlines. This is a part time, entry-level position located in center city Philadelphia, with hours/days that vary according to project development and schedule (currently estimated at 20-24 hours per week). This is an excellent entry-level opportunity, for the recent graduate or graphic designer looking for an interesting part-time opportunity. Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent major
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Flash.
  • Basic understanding of HTML (Knowledge of CSS standards a plus)
  • Understanding various graphic and type file formats.
  • Knowledge of how to prepare graphics for print (CYMK) and web (RGB) and good working knowledge of printing processes.
  • Proficient on Windows XP (our office is entirely Windows based).
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office, strong communications and collaborative skills, punctual, ability to meet deadlines and also possess the flexibility and appropriate temperament to work with changes in scheduling and project details as necessary.
