On a day to day basis the post holder will be responsible to the Deputy School Administration Manager

The School Administration Manager has overview responsibility for the administrative needs of the school

Main areas of responsibility:

  1. To be responsible for all aspects of communication within the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics including digital, electronic and paper based communication, and to liaise with the Marketing and Communications department.
  1. To be responsible for the analysis of all, induction, recruitment and marketing activities undertaken within the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics for the purpose of reporting to the school management group and school marketing and recruitment group.
  1. To liaise with the Academic Leads and Academic Services regarding the organisation of the School’s applicant and open days for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  1. To be responsible for the co-ordination of administrative support and arrangements for student induction and enrolment in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics.
  1. To work as part of a team of administrative staff in supporting and developing the full range of work in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics.
  1. To deputise for the School Administration Manager as required.

  • Any appointment is generally made at the bottom of the salary range for the grade dependent upon experience and previous salary.
  • This is a part-time post (15 hours a week) and is permanent. Ideally we would like the 15 hours to be over 2 days and for one of these to be a Wednesday, however some flexibility may be possible.
  • Annual leave entitlements are shown in the table below and increase after 5 years’ service. In addition, to the eight Bank Holidays, there are university discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. All leave, including bank holidays and discretionary days, are pro-rated for part time employees.
