United Synagogue Job Description
JOB TITLE:Rabbinic Intern Liaison- Living and Learning
WORKING HOURS:Part Time - 5 hours per week. Will include occasional International and UK travel.
SALARY: £5000 per annum- One year Fixed term.
REPORTS TO:Community Services Director
BASED AT:The US Centre, 305 Ballards Lane, Finchley, N12 3GB
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate contact with all previous interns and ascertain if they would be interested in engaging further with the US.
- Correlate details the US has on its database to ensure all of the intern's personal information is correct and up to date. Maintain regular contact with candidates to find out about simchas and general family movements etc.
- Liaise closely with the Living and Learning Project Manager in regard to ensuring accuracy of information.
- Build and manage the implementation of a communication strategy to maintain relationships and the initiation of new interns. This may include newsletters, seminars, and meetings.
- Offer guidance, training and opportunities for potential and existing interns to develop their experience to secure potential job placements.
- Assist the Living and Learning and Tribe teams with current intern recruitment and the Yomim Noraim programming.
- Travel abroad to interview, meet and support future intern candidates as requested.
- Explore the opportunity of developing another intern programme which would cultivate short term placements for potential candidates currently working or studying in the UK.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Orthodox Semicha acceptable to the Court of the Chief Rabbi
- Previous US Internship experience
- Strong Leadership skills
- Passionate about the US ethos and brand
- Excellent verbal and written communicator

Undertake appropriate training as requested by the designated line manager in conjunction with the Human Resources Department and be committed to own continuous professional development.
Act as an ambassador for the United Synagogue.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by designated senior staff/undertaking such other duties that occasionally fall within the purpose of the post
