Purpose of the role:

To support courses within an Academic Programme by providing high quality administrative support.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • To provide an efficient administrative service to specific academic programme areas and courses.

-To act as a point of contact for students, maintaining robust communication channels e.g. student central, email

-To take an advisory role within the course team in relation to administrative processes and procedures, supporting the delivery of the academic programme.

-To service programme/course related meetings such academic programme board and team meetings.

-To liaise with central University of Brighton departments (e.g. Academic Services/Finance/Student Services), external organisations (e.g. professional bodies), in relation to course specific issues, e.g. CAMS administration, student fee status, NHS Bursary Unit requirements and Occupational Health and DBS checks.

-To be responsible for creating and maintaining student and course records, including student absence logs, Learning Support Plans and Tier 4 student engagement logging

-To ensure modules and courses areas are kept up-to-date on both CAMS and Studentcentral including annual triggering of instances and amendments to modules.

-To maintain student assessment records database (CAMS)

-To be responsible for the submission and return of student coursework if not submitted electronically.

-To service the area/ course examination boards,prepare and distribute minutes, mark sheets, pass lists and results letters.

-To maintain data and files on relevant SharePoint area.

  • To provide support for the School Administrative Management Team in relation to specific administrative functions.

-To undertake general administrative tasks as required.

-To service cross-school committees and ad hoc meetings as required.

-To assist with projects or development initiatives as appropriate.

-To maintain currency with all aspects of school and university policy and practice undertaking training/updates as appropriate.

-To share and promote good practice within the wider administrative

  • Any appointment is generally made at the bottom of the salary range for the grade dependent upon experience and previous salary.
  • This is a full time post and is permanent.
  • Annual leave entitlements are shown in the table below and increase after 5 years’ service. In addition, to the eight Bank Holidays, there are university discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. All leave, including bank holidays and discretionary days, are pro-rated for part time employees.
