The Position

Job Title:HR Business Partner - Operations

Department:Human Resources

Location:Warrington

Reports to:HR Director

Job Purpose

To contribute to the business objectives and strategy by ensuring that we have the human resource policies, procedures and practices to recruit, motivate and develop an elite team. To act as an advisor to management and employees, and ensure that confidentiality is maintained. To ensure that we are compliant with employment legislation and best practice in human resource management. To assist in the development of a L&D strategy and to develop, maintain and deliver a high valued, professional L&D function. To administer the delivery of internal and external training initiatives. To ensure policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented. To provide full generalist support. To propose and implement suitable tools to drive efficiency

Key Responsibilities

HR Advisor

•Act as an advisor to management on staffing, organisational design, employee relations, talent management, performance management, policy development and interpretation.

•Manage daily liaison as HR Advisor without creating legal or operational risk.

•Liaise with internal departments and develop strong relationships.

•Liaise with team members to create and maintain quality HR information.

•Respond to emails, telephone calls, requests for information where necessary.

•Demonstrate a strong team effort to work, assisting in ad-hoc projects and duties where required.

•Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity.

•Address complex employee relations matters, investigate, where appropriate, and provide appropriate recommendations.

•Use metrics and analytics regularly to help support business strategies, identify talent trends and make recommendations.

•Complete all administrative tasks, providing high quality response time, analysing needs and resolving complex situations with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.

Learning & Development

•To implement consistent and clear HR Learning & Development policies.

•Identify learning and development needs.

•Ensure that the training needs identified in the performance management appraisal forms are implemented.

•Work with line managers to determine career mobility opportunities and assist with talent assessment.

•Research and recommend internal E-Learning programs.

•To ensure that the training needs identified in the appraisal process are implemented.

Management

•Partner and consult with all levels of management to advise on and assist in implementing the people strategy.

Organisation & Development

•Implement consistent and clear HR policies.

•To facilitate clear reporting lines and job descriptions for all employees.

Resourcing

•Anticipation of required human capital and the planning to meet those needs.

•To oversee the recruitment process, including contractual documentation for all permanent and fixed term contracts.

Compensation & Benefits

•Ensure that the reward policies are consistent with the business objectives and to work with the business to participate in salary and benefits surveys where appropriate.

•To provide guidance for compensation decisions, including the compensation review. • Research and recommend a flexible benefit platform.

Performance Management

•To ensure the facilitation of the appraisal programme.

Employee Relations

•To advise managers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including advising on performance management, appraisals, departures and grievances.

•To ensure compliance with statutory and procedural requirements

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

•A proven track record of relevant human resources experience.

•Sound judgement with the ability to establish a high level of credibility in the organisation and act as a trusted advisor.

•Previous experience with recruitment and developing and leading L&D initiatives.

•Broad understanding and previous experience of having advised on employee relations issues.

•Strong communication skills with ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation, including senior management. Collaborative team player.

•Ability to multi-task and delegate appropriately, while also being able to roll up sleeves when necessary, ensuring the job is always done to a consistently high standard.

•High degree of accuracy.

•IT literacy.

•Ability to implement process and procedures to a high standard.

•High level of customer service with internal and external clients.

Qualifications

Essential

•Professional HR qualification(s) (CIPD or similar certification).

Desirable

•Degree educated
