Job Title:Head of Stakeholder Relations

(Interim post- 6 months)

Reports to:Chief Executive

NCPC and Dying Matters stakeholders, key contacts at partner organisations including corporate partners, funders, and people with personal experience.

Role Summary

  1. Lead on the delivery of the income generation strategy to ensure the target of £1.6 million continues to be met over the next six months in line with agreed targets. To maintain goodstakeholder relations for the Chief Executiveto support the ongoing work of NCPC and the Dying Matters coalition.
  1. Support the new Chief Executive and support and attend the Senior Management Team (SMT) each month to report on progress and opportunities.

Main Role and Priority Responsibilities

Income Generation

  • Develop projects and proposals that support the NCPC and Dying Matters strategic aims and objectives.
  • Generate income from a diverse range of grant making and charitable trusts to support our identified priorities.
  • Generate income from statutory sources including the Department of Health and NHS England and new NHS and Social Care organisations, CCGs and Health and WellBeing Boards and in particular Local Education and Training Boards.
  • Lead and develop effective relationships with current and new corporate partners and sponsors for NCPC.
  • Lead on the development of the Compassionate Employers Programme and in collaboration with the Partnerships Advisor, recruit organisations to support the coalition.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to secure self generated income in the form of meeting targets for publication, subscription and event sales of £250k
  • In collaboration with the SMT and Finance Advisor, negotiate on and secure competitive deals for any contracts or agreements for services to NCPC.
  • Feed back on progress against targets to the Finance and Personnel Committee and Board of Trustees
  • Provide management and leadership to team members as appropriate.
  • Work with the Community Involvement Manager to promote our involvement activities and generate financial support in the form of bursaries and specialist support
  • Feed into the development of the organisation’s strategic development strategy where appropriate
  • Market the work of the Dying Matters coalition and take any opportunities to actively promote awareness of death, dying and bereavement’ in line with the mission and vision of the coalition.
  • Develop existing and where appropriate new relationships and strategic partnerships with those organisations identified in the roles and responsibilities schedule
  • Work with the senior management team (SMT) to support the delivery of the service delivery plan
  • Carry out from time to time and as directed, any other duties as required in addition to the above that will be both reasonable and within your capabilities.
  • Ensure that at all times you take care of your health and safety and that of others by complying with health and safety obligations, particularly by reporting promptly any defects, risks or potential hazards.
