We are seeking a full-time Vice Principal (Two year renewable contract starting August 2018)
West Island is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher and leader who has proven experience.
You will be joining a strategic leadership team which consists of a Principal, three other Vice Principal Roles and a Business Manager. The responsibility of this team is to lead and motivate staff to achieve our guiding statements through a planned set of actions in our annual school development plan.
As a Vice Principal your leadership responsibilities may change from time to time. In broad terms this teamprovides leadership and support in all areas of school life including teaching and learning, curriculum planning, pastoral guidance, wider student services, budgets, community and family life, extra-curricular programmes and day to day running of the school.
In addition, each Vice Principal will be the line manager for faculty or pastoral leaders and will have a teaching responsibility.
The strategic leadership team approaches all educational issues and the development of the school through collaboration with other key teams in the school.
Whilst our Vice Principals develop a range of experience over time, to begin with, key responsibilities will include leading teaching and learning, self-evaluation systems and CAS opportunities.
