Job Title:Fundraising Assistant

Responsible To:Head of Fundraising

Main Responsibilities

To provide administrative support to the Fundraising Team and support general fundraising activities, including stewardship of One-off events.

Key Tasks

Provide telephone, email and face to face support and stewardship to fundraisers.

To manage the ‘One-off’ events working closely with the Community and Events Fundraiser.

Ensure that all fundraisers are acknowledged and thanked in a timely and appropriate manner.

To write and source fundraising copy, on a weekly basis, for Fundraising and Generic communications, e.g., blogs, e-newsletters and for the fundraising closed Facebook pages.

To provide event administration including producing fundraising packs, certificates and race packs and attend events where necessary.

Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Team including hotel bookings and car hire.

Organise internal meetings; prepare agendas and minutes as requested.

To input data on the Harlequin database with speed and accuracy.

To run data import and export processes as required for the Harlequin database and external agencies such as Virgin Money Giving and JustGiving.

Process and be responsible for maintaining accurate Gift Aid records and claims to HMRC.

Draw up purchase orders according to financial control procedure.

Ensure that all stocks of stationary, literature and promotional items are maintained.

Other

It is a requirement of the position to remain flexible within your role and to operate across other roles as business needs require for example, providing cover when other members of the team are unavailable.

A willingness to be involved in the wider work undertaken by MS-UK is required.

You will be expected to attend fundraising and marketing events as and when required. This may involve occasional weekend or evening work.

Key Skills

Educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent in English and Mathematics

Experience of working in a busy office environment

Excellent administrative skills

Excellent copywriting skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Experience of running events

Computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office

A keen attitude to learning and a willingness to undertake training

Ability to work on own initiative

Flexible, enthusiastic and be a good team player

Good time management

Polite and courteous and treats all people with respect
