SUMMARY:

Trains to be sales representative and/or plant/area manager for crops department providing products and service to farms, municipalities, farm managers, landlords, and businesses promoting profitable sales and Best Management Practices by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communication with customers, salesmen, operations and home office via telephone, E-mail and in person.
  • Generate required reports and other database programs for salesman and management as requested.
  • Strives for completed, on-time paper work as requested.
  • Works closely with Evergreen FS, Inc. in regards to program information and changes that may be made within the agronomy division.
  • Works with precision farming and becomes familiar with department programs and procedures.
  • Learn to utilize Seed, Precision Farming Technology, Finance and other marketing tools to grow market share.
  • Learn and understand the business functions of employee team and assist team to improve efficiency and profitability of location.
  • Work with Crop Specialist and Agronomy Division implementing, organizing and completing agronomy projects i.e. Pursuit of Maximum Yield, On Farm Discovery, side by sides and plots.
  • By and advocate of Best Management Practices promoting Nitrogen System, Crop Protection System and Yield Systems to promote stewardship and environmentally sound practices.
  • Promote Seed, Seed Treatments and product advantages to growers.
  • Organize and maintain customer accounts.
  • Learn to create and recommend specific agronomy programs to targeted accounts with the goal of increasing agronomy business.
  • Ordering products as needed for location i.e. (Seed, Nitrogen’s, Fertilizer and Chemicals)
  • Inventory reporting as required by agronomy division.
  • Keep work area and office clean and professional looking
  • Ordering and maintaining products and supplies i.e. tickets, paper and other office supplies to conduct business in a professional manner.
  • Promote the use of FS Credit programs as a selling tool and provides required information when used by patron.
  • Be and advocate of safety, promoting safe work habits and reporting unsafe acts.
  • Required to participate in Safety Phases required by the position and the work required.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions requested by company.
  • Follows company policies concerning hours, uniforms and other pertinent issues.
  • Establish a good customer and employee relationship.
  • Display a professional, neat appearance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • During various seasons, may be asked to run equipment and/or tend to this equipment as needed.
  • Learn and be proficient with billing system and various Ag-Vance programs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College degree or an equivalent of education and experience is required for this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as requested. Have the ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

OTHER SKILLS

Crops Sales Marketing Associate needs to possess excellent computer skills. Having the knowledge and experience working with the various billing, planning and blending programs as well as developing spreadsheets for record keeping and other functions is and will continue to be a more and more important function of this position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid CDL license

Obtain an applicators spray license

Obtain CCA status when qualifications are met

While performing duties pertaining to this job, individual may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Marketing Support Assistant must be willing to work additional hours beyond normal work week at various times throughout the year. These times work include but not be limited to seasonal operations, month end and year end audit preparation.
