JOB TITLE: Associate Producer & Editor- Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Television

REPORTS TO: VP/General Manager for Programming and Production

LOCATION: Richmond

STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full Time Pay Grade: 28

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide video editing support for the local series, Charlottesville Inside Out, Virginia Home Grown and local spot production as assigned. Including, but not limited to, continuing series and interstitial spot production throughout the year.

DUTIES:

Edit video materials in conjunction with program producers on Premiere Pro, Avid, After Effects and Photo Shop systems

Produce and edit video spots for local sponsor support spots

Produce local institutional promotional spots and television membership pledge support spots along with graphics

Rough-cut editing and transcribing for Charlottesville Inside Out, Virginia Home Grown and other post-production assistance for both series

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Associate degree in Mass Communications, related field or equivalent preferred

·  At least 3 years practical experience with computerized editing equipment

·  Demonstrated strong editing skills with Premiere Pro, Avid, After Effects and Photo Shop systems

·  Demonstrated strong editing skills with image manipulation graphics systems

·  Demonstrated strong artistic skills on image manipulation graphics systems

·  Must be able to edit programming material from provided producer off-line edit decision lists with little or no supervision and constantly meet deadlines

·  Must demonstrate strong creative editing skills

·  Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills

·  Must be able to type 60-80 words per minute

·  Must be able to organize the editing needs of multiple simultaneous projects

·  Minimum 3 years related experience in television or film production

·  Normal hearing and vision

·  Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

·  Nights and weekends on occasion expected
