--THE GUATEMALA TEAM would like to thank everyone so far for the great support we have received this far in our fundraising. As we move forward and continue to raise funds, our next project is having a garage sale in the Sioux Center City Wide garage sales. If you are in the spring cleaning mood and would like to donate any items for the garage sale, you may drop your items off in the youth group room. If is it easier or there are any bigger items and you would like us to pick them up, please let Angie Zomermaand know and we will gladly come pick them up. We will alsogladly price your items. If you would like any items back that do not sell, please let us know so we can label them and get them back to you. Otherwise, all items that do not sell will be donated to Atlas or Bibles for Missions. Please try to get your stuff to us by TODAY so we have time to organize and price all the items.

--THE GUATEMALA TEAM IS HAVING A BAKE SALE this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at their garage sale. If you would like to help us out with baked goods, you can drop them off at church and we will pick them up the morning of the sale. We could use stuff any of those days. Thanks!

--ANNUAL SOCITY MEETING AT UNITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL will be held on

Tuesday, April 19 at 7:00 in the Knight Center. The Board and school leadership will present reports on the present status of the school as well as future plans. A vote will also be taken to approve the 2016-2017 budget and to elect 3 new Board members. Nominees for the Board are: from 1st CRC Orange City: Doug Schuller and Ryan Raines, from 1st CRC Sioux Center: Brian Vander Berg, from Calvary CRC Orange City:

Barry Emmelkamp and Rob Krommendyk. Biographies of the board nominees will be on our website under news and roundtable.

--THE NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will present its annual Spring Concert, Czech-Mates, on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium. NISO concludes its 2015-2016 Symphonic Journey with a musical voyage to one of the most beautiful places in all of Europe: the Czech Republic! NISO’s youth orchestra, NISYO joins forces with NISO for a performance of Dance of the Comedians by Smetana. Guest artist, Christopher Hill, principal clarinetist of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, will perform Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major. NISO’s finale will be the rarely-performed Symphony No. 6 in D Major by Dvořák. As in the past, this Spring Concert will also feature the announcement of the 2016-2017 Season of the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra! Season tickets for next year will be offered that evening for a special discounted price. Advance tickets are available at True Vine Bookstore in Sioux Center and Dove Christian Bookstore in Orange City. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the concert. --AUDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY Youth Orchestra will be held on Saturday, April 23, at the Dordt College Music Building. Now completing its ninth season, NISYO is seeking string players from middle school through high school to join all sections of the orchestra. --THE INSPIRATIONS FROM BRYSON CITY, NORTH CAROLINA will be presenting a benefit concert on Saturday evening, April 23 at 6:30 PM at the B. J. Haan Auditorium. The Inspirations have been performing since 1964 and they have received every honor and award that southern gospel music has to offer. The concert will also feature the Journey Bound Quartet of Des Moines, IA and the Triumphant Sound Quartet from Lawton, IA. This will be the last week-end performance the Journey Bound Quartet will be singing in NW IA as they will retire May 1.Tickets will be $15.00 per person and sold at the door only. The doors will open at 5:00 PM. All proceeds of the concert will benefit the local and global ministries of Hope Haven. --YOUTH GROUP HOSTING “HUMAN” FOOSBALL TOURNAMENT on Friday, June 3 for youth groups from the area and Saturday, June 4for adult teams. If you would like to put a team together of friends, & family that would be great! A team is 6 people and possibly 2 to rotate in. We will need 8 teams (for Sat. tournament), double elimination, 2 games guaranteed, with an entrance fee of 100.00 per team.The tournament will be held at the Christian School and concessions will be available. This would be a great time to get your older “kids” together for a fun filled Sat. of foosball, food and fellowship. Shin guards are not required, but may be suggested!
