JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Area Retail Cluster Manager (FT)

Reporting To: Head of Retail

Responsible For: Cluster Branch Managers

1.  Primary Objectives

·  Support the Head of Retail by building the brand and its image through;

-  Engaging all staff and customers with our key messages and values

-  Strengthening market position and leading the business through it’s next stage of growth with our retail channel

- Effective management of Branches to support them to achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and maintain and improve high levels of customer experience through all retail stores and integration with online/direct sales channel

- Supporting the Head of Retail through overseeing the Cluster team, processes, structure, environment, resources, demonstrating best practice

- Communicating effectively with Head of Retail, fellow department managers and teams

·  To professionally manage and support all branch managers in the cluster ensuring that the brand message is being delivered at the highest level

·  Improving store performance by building on current practices, and implementing new procedures to ensure future success.

·  To monitor, support and report back on overall environment within cluster stores; visual merchandising, presentation, cleanliness of stores

·  To deliver results in line with Retail Objectives and KPI’s

2.  Main Tasks and Key Areas of Work

Operate as an Area Branch Manager Deliver a profitable Cluster through proactive and reactive approaches to seasonal and weather related peaks and troughs, and an omni-channel approach to sales and customers.

·  Responsible for supporting BM’s with budgets

·  Demonstrate views on current key trade activity that potentially impacts the Cluster

·  Support Head of Retail in leading and managing teams and agreed departmental strategies

·  Assist with adhoc projects as required

·  Be pro-active in expanding and promoting the Seasalt brand and assisting at peak training times and store events

·  Liaising with other Cluster Managers to ensure that the retail operations run smoothly, and to targets.

·  To support the opening of new stores – people, resources, operational plans

·  Working with BM’s in identifying key areas of strength, and areas for growth in Cluster, maximising sales spaces and branch profitability.

Management

·  To support the development of all branch managers in cluster and ensure they do the same for their teams

·  Support the Head of Retail to ensure that the vision, objectives, sales and budget targets are clearly communicated and achieved across the cluster

·  Support the focus on training for all BM’s in Cluster and ensure this is developed for all teams

·  To help and promote healthy competition across and between clusters

·  To work with the HoR to identify and develop potential leaders within cluster

·  To address and refer HR issues as they arise

·  To assist in and support recruitment of new team members if required, developing managers to deal with this up to Assistant Manager level

·  Responsible for ensuring H&S Consultant liaison with all stores and for monitoring training, reporting H&S issues as they arise

Customer Service

·  To promote, implement, monitor and maintain excellent Customer Service standards at all times

·  To work with BM’s on Standards of Performance in Cluster

Sales Targets

·  To support the HoR to monitor and manage sales targets for all branches in Cluster

·  To work closely with HoR on to support analysis of trading patterns, challenge Branch Managers and ensure appropriate action is taken to unforeseen sales reactions

·  To liaise and communicate with Head of Retail on Visual Merchandising and monitor standards of merchandising in all stores in Cluster

·  To liaise with HoR on weekly trade meetings and take appropriate action in Cluster to influence retail sales

·  Motivate and challenge Branch Managers to achieve Data Collection targets

Retail Operations

·  To monitor and motivate on KPI’s for all stores in Cluster

·  To support HoR to ensure Branch Managers are equipped with all the resources they need to lead, manage and run each store effectively

·  Responsible for overseeing Daily/Weekly/Monthly Checks are happening in Branches in Cluster

·  To monitor stores standards and work with Visual Merchandising teams to improve this

3.  Measurable Performance Targets within Cluster

·  Achieve and aim to exceed retail sales targets

·  Achieve and aim to exceed wage and budget targets

·  ‘Excellent’ Customer Service scores on Mystery Shopper or equivalent

·  Achieve and aim to exceed Data Collection targets

4.  Scope of Authority

·  Refund level of £XX

·  Management of own branch Retail staff

·  Recruitment of Assistant Managers

·  Keep confidential all knowledge of company business, finance and statistics.

·  To represent Seasalt Ltd and promote its brand image through all activities

·  Ability to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS / Retail/Customer Service Qualifications
GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above / Relevant Business/Commercial qualification
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS / Leadership
Experience of managing people/multi-sites at a senior retail level.
Excellent Organisation, planning and communication skills
Experience of working with, and developing staff in order to maximise their input into the business
Retail Operations
Proven ability to drive business forward through making commercial decisions. Experience of management and responsibility for budget
Visual Merchandising experience
Sales & Targets
Proven experience of sales/target achievement and the ability to motivate others to achieve
Customer Focus
Experience of developing and delivering excellent Customer Service Standards
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages / HR Experience
Project management
Knowledge of existing issues which are facing the UK High Street, and the ability to develop and manage an effective strategy to overcome them

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS / Full UK Driver’s License is essential as there is extensive travel involved.
