2010/2011 Project Goal:

v Eliminate delay and provide permanency for victims of child abuse and neglect.

Ongoing Efforts:

v Provide resource materials/Dependency Parent Workbooks to biological parents at the onset of the case.

v Improve communication between dependency, CASA and IFC work groups to enhance collaboration.

v Avoid court continuances in order to expedite permanency placements.

v Improve the court calendaring schedule to eliminate excessive waiting times for interested parties.

v Track Permanency Planning Hearings to ensure that the hearings are set within mandatory time frames.

Accomplishments:

Pinal County participated in the “Knowing Who You Are” training and developed a sub-committee to explore disparity and disproportionality in the Juvenile Court System. The sub-committee will continue to meet to address this issue and explore future training of CASA volunteers and Juvenile Court Services volunteers.
