Job Description – Intelligence Analyst

Position: Intelligence Analyst

Responsible to: Head of Intelligence

Responsible for: Resources, including intelligence database development

Works with: The Head of Intelligence, intelligence coordinators, Programme Manager, Operations team and links to all other League staff.

Salary; £27,000 - £32,000 pro rata.

Duration; 12 month fixed term contract, five or four days per week.

Location: Godalming, Surrey with some scope for working from home.

Overview:

The Intelligence Analyst is responsible to the Head of Intelligence for the delivery an effective analytical intelligence service to support our investigative services.The post holder will need substantial experience of providing high quality analytical services including conducting open source research. The post holder will be expected to be based in our Godalming office for the majority of time. There is some flexibility to work from home as required.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Contribution to, and development of, League intelligence services to support our undercover investigations

2. Research and analysis of all League Intelligence, knowledge systems and

operational reports.

3. Production and presentation, with the Head of Intelligence, of the Tactical and

Strategic Assessments

4. Production of material for the Programme Manager, trustees and CEO.

5. Compliance with all relevant policies and procedures relating to Standard

Operating Procedures and Data Protection.

6. Working with intelligence coordinators on Wildlife Crimewatch.

7. External presentation of intelligence and analytical services.

Essential knowledge and skills

1. A record of successful analytical work in a comparable organisational environment,

such as law enforcement.

2. Excellent knowledge of the NIM, analytical tools including analysts' notebook.

3. Evidence of knowledge of relevant legislation including Data Protection.

4. Evidence of presentation of intelligence and analytical products to internal and

external audiences.

5. A high level of computer literacy including open source research, social media, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

6. Evidence of effective interpersonal and communications skills (written and spoken)

with a range of people.

7. Evidence of planning and organising workloads and project delivery.

8. Evidence of a creative and innovative response to problem solving.

9. General knowledge and skills equivalent to ‘A’ level standard or above.
