Open to full-time domestic students who:

  • Will be completing their final year in any Bachelor of Nursing* course in Semester 2 2018 at QUT; OR
  • Will be commencing their final year in any Bachelor of Nursing* course in Semester 2 2018 at QUT;

*This includes all single nursing degrees and double degrees which include nursing (NS42; HL16; HL29; HL47)

CONDITIONS OF THE JOAN PENRIDGE

COMMEMORATIVE AWARD

The following terms and conditions apply to this Award:

  1. The purpose of this Award is to help support a full-time student who will be: completing their final year in any Bachelor of Nursing course in Semester 2, 2018 at QUT; or will be commencing their final year in any Bachelor of Nursing course in Semester 2, 2018 at QUT.
  1. The Award is tenable for 12 months and is subject to the recipient remaining enrolled full-time in the degree. The recipient will also need to maintain an appropriate GPA in any required coursework, with minimum pass grades to successfully complete the degree.
  1. The Award is provided principally for educational purposes and the value of the award for 2018 is $3000.
  1. A copy of the conditions of this Award and a copy of the tax information document (to be prepared by QUT Development) will be supplied to the student. The Award recipients will require this information when completing a tax return.
  1. Paid employment of any nature, with any employer, undertaken by the recipient must not interfere with the student’s study program. The University reserves the right to terminate the award if progress, as a result of additional paid work being undertaken, is not satisfactory.
  1. The recipient will be required to write to the Head, School of Nursing, QUT, at the completion of each semester outlining his/her academic progress.
  1. The recipient will be required to address the potential applicants for the award in the year following his/her receipt of the award.
  1. QUT shall not require the recipient to render any service to the University, either during the tenure of the award or upon its completion, as a condition of the Award.
  1. This scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, but ultimate determination will be made by the Australian Taxation Office. Please retain this statement with your tax documentation.
  1. Questions regarding the tax position of the scholarship should be directed initially to the School of Nursing.
