All teams must submit their team intent form no later than September 15, 2016

During the invitational, all team captains must register their teams 1 hour prior to their first match

Regular Scoring

Best of 2 tie-break sets with a match tie-break, if required; the match tie-break shall be recorded as 1 set and 1 game

Two minute set rest between the 1st and 2nd sets and the 2nd set and 3rd set match tie-breaker.

Coman tie-break procedure for set and match tie-breaks

  • Eligibility

All first place teams, in their district league, will receive an entry to the invitational, in their appropriate division. There will be no State Championships to advance to the invitational.

All players must have reached the age of 65 prior to or during the calendar year in which such player plays in his/her first local league match.

A minimum of six (6) players who were on the final local roster must be available to compete at the Invitational

A player is eligible to advance to the invitational if he/she has played on the same team in at least two (2) matches through the local season; a maximum of one(1) default shall count for advancing

All individual team members must be from the appropriate level of play in accordance with the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) system.

  • Procedures

USTA Rules and Regulations, USTA/Midwest Section Standing Orders pertaining to USTA leagues, and Championships Rules and Regulations will be enforced during the invitational.

In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by the first of the following procedures:

  1. Winner of the most individual matches in the entire event
  2. Winner of the head to head match

If a team lineup is not submitted prior to a match being called, an official will be notified and the Point Penalty for Lateness as stated in the USTA Friend at Court will be used for each court where the player for the court being called fails to appear.

The penalties are as follows:

  1. 5 minutes or less: loss of toss plus 1 game
  2. 5:01-10 minutes: loss of toss plus 2 games
  3. 10:01-15 minutes: loss of toss plus 3 games
  4. More than 15 minutes: Default

Balls will be provided for all official matches

Team Fee: $400, playable to the Wisconsin Tennis Association

Tournament Schedule will be posted on the WTA website: and sent to all registered captains, once completed

Team Awards: The first place team, in each division, will receive 8 awards; additional awards may be purchased at the team’s expense

Team Photographs: A photo will be taken of each team participating, prior to their first match or at a designated time, by request

Limited rooms are being held and will be released on Sept 16st. This is a 5 Star Resort with full amenities, including free shuttle services around the resort.

Limited rooms are being held until September 16st. The address is: 2932 Kohler Memorial Dr., Sheboygan, WI, 53081. The motel is 5-7 minutes from the Sports Core.

Airport: Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport. The American Club will arrange transportation (fee based) to the resort for their guests. The airport is about 64 miles from Kohler (1 hour, 20 minutes in driving time). For those that fly in on personal planes, the closest airport is Sheboygan Falls.
