A regular meeting of the Kentucky Commission on Proprietary Education was held on May 21, 2014 at the Capitol Plaza Tower in Frankfort, KY.

Members Present

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:39 p.m.

Pro Tem for Meeting

Motion made by Jim Jackson and seconded by Thomas Zawacki for Walter Lee to serve as Chairman Pro Tem for the May 21, 2014 meeting. Motion Carried.

Meeting Minutes

A motion was made by Jim Jackson and seconded by Monica Hall to approve the March 19, 2014 meeting minutes. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chase Bannister and seconded by Cindy Landry to approve the April 15, 2014 special meeting minutes. Motion Carried.

Motion made by Debby Mobley and seconded by Sarah Levy to accept the budget report as submitted. Motion carried.

New Resident School

The application of Ford’s RV Training Center, Benton, KY, to be licensed as a resident school in Kentucky is approved subject to the following condition – no class may be advertised for or conducted with Kentucky students until a site visit has been completed.

The application of Lake Cumberland CDL School, Henderson, KY to be licensed as a resident Commercial Driver License school in Kentucky is approved.

Change of Location

The application of Phlebotomy Plus, Grayson, KY to change locations to Ashland KY is approved subject to the following condition – no class may be advertised for or conducted with Kentucky students until a site visit has been completed.

Cease and Desist Letters to will be mailed to Paducah Truck Driving School, Paducah and Alix Adams Model School & Agency Inc., Louisville for not submitting application by the May 15, 2014 deadline and no notification via mail or email.

Other Business

Audit Update - In the Process of the 2013 and 2014 Fiscal year audit. The Commission will be billed for 2013 fiscal year audit before June 30, 2014 and billed for 2014 audit in 2015 fiscal year.

Regulations Update - The Draft Regulations will be filed on or before June 15, 2014.

2015 Budget Update – Robert Curry and Ann Hester will develop a draft budget which will be shared with the Budget Committee prior to the June Commission meeting.

Kyhealthnow Initiative – Secretary Zawacki informed the Commission of Governor Beshear’s Kyhealthnow Initiative.
