New Committee

Wembury Pre-School

AGM – 14TH OCTOBER

New Committee Members are being sought to replace those resigning at the AGM being held on 14th October 2015.

Being a registered charity, our constitution requires that the Pre-School is run by a voluntary committee. If you are interested in joining the committee or simply helping out please contact our Chairperson or Sam/Jane on 863472. The Pre-School is run by a committee elected each year at the AGM, who are responsible for employing and managing all members of staff. As the day to day running of the Pre-School is carried out by the Administrators, the main role of the committee members is to maintain a sustainable pre-school offering high quality child care and with a proactive approach to fundraising.

BREAKFAST CLUB

We are now running a Breakfast Club. In order to claim Breakfast Club hours in your Early Years Funding Allowance you need to let us know ASAP and will have to claim for the whole term in advance in the normal way on the termly funding head count form.

We will also be offering an ad-hoc booking service. Places will need to be booked in advance, preferably giving as much notice as possible, but by the close of the pre-school on the day before at the latest so that adequate staffing levels can be maintained.

Any and all ad-hoc bookings will need to be paid for at the time of booking or on the day attending in cash.

Ad-hoc charges will be:

8.30am – 9am £2.00

Bookings can be made in person or over the phone on 863472. If you book by email please ensure that you get a confirmation reply.

Fees

The fee for each child is currently £3.80 per hour (i.e. £9.50 per 2 ½ hour session). This applies to both funded and non-funded children i.e. less than 3 years of age, and funded children if their funded sessions are used at another playgroup (funding is available from the term following their third birthday). Please note that lunch sessions are now charged at the same rates.

School Lunch Tickets

We will be selling our own blue tickets for hot school lunches (a menu has already been sent home for this term), available in books of 5 tickets at a price of £10.50 per book.

15 HOURS FUNDING PER WEEK IS NOW AVAILABLE – PLEASE MAKE FULL USE OF YOUR CHILD’S ENTITLEMENT

PLEASE NOTE THAT TO COMPLY WITH EYDP FUNDING GUIDELINES WE MUST HAVE A SIGNED ABSENCE NOTE TO COVER ALL CHILD ABSENCES FROM PRE-SCHOOL.

WATER BOTTLES

PLEASE CAN YOU ENSURE THAT YOU BRING IN A LABELLED WATER BOTTLE EACH DAY THAT YOU CHILD ATTENDS IN ORDER THAT YOUR CHILD MAY HAVE ACCESS TO A DRINK THROUGH OUT EACH SESSION. FOLLOWING NEW ADVICE WE WILL BE OPERATING A ROLLING SNACK TIME, WITH MILK BEING THE ONLY DRINK OFFERED.

Prompt collection/drop off of children from/to Pre-school

Could all parents/carers please ensure that they collect and drop off their children on time. On some occasions registration has not been completed until 9.20am. This is unfair on those children who arrive on time, and is causing problems with completing ‘Curriculum activities’ within constrained time limits. If you know that you are going to be late, then please make suitable collection arrangements. Continuous late pickup will result in an extra bill as staff are only contracted to 3pm.

NAPPIES/PULL UPS

If your child wears nappies/pull ups can you please ensure that you provide us with enough for each session. We do not supply these. You may also wish to make available a change of clothes in case of accidents. Thank-you.

Parent/Staff Meetings – W/C 7TH DECEMBER

Please note that Parent Meetings will be arranged at the end of every term to discuss your child’s progress, however, parents should feel free to ask to meet with their child’s Key worker at any time to discuss their child’s progress or any concerns that they may have, including health or behavioural issues. Please note that Claire Ward is our SENCO Co-coordinator (Special Needs). Should you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact her.
