QUALIFICATIONS
Ms. Vecchi has 30 years experience as a planning consultant for private and public sector clients. She has a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is a LEEDAccredited Professional in Building Design and Construction(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED AP BD+C). In 2005, she began her own business as Principal and Owner of Vecchi & Associates, LLC, which specializes in Urban & Natural ResourcesPlanning and Sustainable Design. She is committed todesign excellence, environmental sensitivity and sustainability.
She was previously a Partner in the firm, Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc. (RMC), an Urban Planning, Civil and Environmental Engineering Company with offices in Denver, Longmont and Estes Park. She managed the Urban Planning & Landscape Architecture department for the Longmont office for 22 years. RMC was sold to a national company, Tetra Tech, Inc., in 2001; she continued as a Principal with Tetra Tech, Inc., overseeing the Planning & Civil Engineering Departments for an additional 4 ½ years. Projects included mixed-use residential, commercial and industrial developments, as well as co-authoring theModel Land Use Code for Colorado’s Small Communities which won a Smart Growth Award from the American Planning Association (APA Colorado) in 2004. Her areas of expertise include:
- Project management and coordination of all aspects of development projects including initial feasibility, conceptual design, site design development, permitting, and public presentations
- Evaluation and recommendations for sustainable design principles and practices
- Consulting services as a LEED AP BD+C
- Creation of neighborhood and award–winning community master plans
- Development of a Model Land Use Code for Colorado’s small communities
- Development of a Strategic Report & Action Program for the creation of an Arts & Entertainment District,Longmont, Colorado (2011)
- Design and permittingof environmentally sensitive gravel mining and reclamation plans
- Obtaining municipal, county, state and federal permits for an extensive variety of projects
