  1. Municipal Utility Districts MUDs
  2. Persons and firms assessing and collecting property taxes for MUDs, school districts, cities are regulated under TDLR unless the taxes are assessed and collected by the elected county tax assessor and their staff who are exempt from TDLR registration.
  3. Thetaxing entities and persons are to be registered with TDLR as Property Tax Professional tax assessors, collectors and taxing entities.
  4. They have the same ethical obligations as listed on the Property Tax Professionals application. The only tax professionals exempt from registering with TDLR are the elected County Tax Assessor/Collectors and their staff.

  6. Continuing Education and Providers
  7. Do not wait till the last month before your expiration date to attempt to secure CEs
  8. You may not be able to take the required courses.
  9. You may take the course on-line but the course credit may not be input into the TDLR database before your renewal date.

  2. Majority of the CE providers will input the completion certificates into the TDLR database
  3. Do not send them to TDLR for input unless the CE courses through the Appraisal Foundation (TAF), the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) or the Appraisal Institute (AI).

  5. 8. How is completion of my continuing educational hours recorded and retained?
  6. Reporting of CE hours is the responsibility of the CE provider with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are CE courses through the Appraisal Foundation (TAF), the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) or the Appraisal Institute (AI). If you complete course through these organizations, you will be provided a course completion certificate by the education provider. You should scan the course completion certificate and e-mail it to TDLR nd request CE hour’s accreditation. Those three organizations do not input completed CE courses into TDLR’s CE database.
  7. You can use the “Check the CE courses you have completed" link to review the courses reported to TDLR for you. If your courses have not been reported, contact the provider
