JLI Scholarship Core Components…

1)  Financial:

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

2)  Mentor Program:

The mentorship is to be tailor made for each recipient and mentor. The hours, location, and subject matter of the mentorship sessions will depend on the availability of both, where they live, where the mentor works, etc. The mentorship will occur during senior year. More general guidelines for the mentorship will be distributed to awardees and mentors.

JLI Scholarship Background…

Inspiration from key targets:

a)  Harness the energy of Jefferson County youth (high school juniors) toward civic engagement in the future;

b)  Counteract the "brain drain" of youth from leaving Jefferson County.
