The production value of the section relevant to taps and valves is about 8.4 billion Euros(7,6% of this amount corresponds to the value of themechanical industry). The Oil&Gas sector scores a turnover of 3.5 billion euros and a total of 11,000 operators.

TheIVS Industrial Valves Summit is an example of a collaboration, an initiative, of Confindustria Bergamo andPromobergEnte Fiera Bergamo whose target is to valorise the excellence of the Italian production of industrial valves in a global market that is more and more competitive,”states TiberioTesi, Managing Director at Confindustria Bergamo. The summit was conceived as a platform of innovation and technologies in the sector of valves and flow control and it offers Bergamo and Italian companies a place where they can display their excellent production capabilities to their international visitors whilealso demonstrating that the territory is a reference point of high quality suppliers.”

“Excellence and quality,”affirms Ivan Riodeschini, the Chairman of Promoberg,“are the key points that Promoberghas always used to select the projects to carry out either alone or in partnership with other bodies. The second edition of IVS, which has considered a leading event since the first edition,is dedicated to the important production sector of industrial valves.”

“The industrial valve sector has recently recovered, thanks to the significant increase of turnover from foreign countries. It should not be forgotten,”says FabrizioSpada, Director of the European Community, Milan office, “that energy policy is currently an important topic and has been subject to funding either from Europe and out of Europe, as well asfor the component manufacturers.”

The main countries of interest for export are currently Iran, United Arab Emirates and Oman, as it was repeated by Enrico Barbieri,ICE from Milano– Responsible for the Central Northern Regions and by Pier Luigi D’Agata, General Manager of ConfindustriaAssafrica e Mediterraneo.

The international character of the exhibition and the focus on innovations out of the Italian borders are also proved by the arrangement of the congress program, designed and coordinated by Maurizio Brancaleoni, the Chairman of the ScientificCommitteewho underlines that having 51 reports articulated in 13 sessions and written by the main actors and representatives of foreign companies prove, once again, the actual vocation of the IVS. The fact that ISO/TC153/WG1 works will take place at the IVS exhibition also confirms the importance of this event.

“It is known,” finishes Marco Ghilardi, AD Starlineand founder of Valve Campus, “that innovation, quality and research are the result of constant training carried out both inside and outside the companies by means of permanent agreements with Universities and other educational bodies from the territory. Valve Campus – an educationalspin off of the IVS,born in 2015 – proposes educational initiatives on the territory relevant to the specific themes of the sector.”
