It Is My and My Staff S Great Pleasure to Work with Each and Every One of Your Children

Welcome Back!

Dear Parents, August 13, 2014

It is my and my staff’s great pleasure to work with each and every one of your children in this coming school year. We have dedicated our lives to serving these special students and consider our job a privilege. We are looking forward to working with each and every one of you to help each child grow mentally, emotionally, socially and physically.

Just a few reminders for those who are returning and new facts for those who are new:

1.  Every day your child will be bringing home a folder and a communication book. The folder will have communication from the office or me. Please make sure to check it daily. The book is provided to make sure there is communication between you and my classroom on a daily basis. I will TRY to write to you daily to keep you aware of how your child did that day. If there is anything noteworthy to report to you however, it will be written down. Also, please write to me regarding anything I should know as your child’s teacher. For example, if your child didn’t sleep well the night before, it would be helpful for me to know because a lack of sleep will affect his/her behavior or performance of tasks.

2.  Make sure to provide a change of clothes for your child in their backpack. Sometimes accidents happen and we need to be able to accommodate that need.

3.  If your child requires a diaper change, make sure to provide diapers in their backpack. We will also need a constant supply of baby wipes (one box every two weeks).

4.  Please look at and fill out ALL of the required areas in the student packet and return it to me.

5.  Enclosed you will also find two emergency cards. Please fill them both out, even if you already have in the past. We have a set for the class and a set for the office. Make sure to provide a phone number we can reach you at without fail. It is very important that we would be able to contact you in case of emergency.

6.  Please make sure to keep your child at home if he/she is sick (even with a cold and cough). We do not want them getting the other children or staff sick unnecessarily.

7.  Enclosed you will also find my classroom rules/rewards/consequences for your own information.

8.  Please provide Clorox wipes whenever you are able. We like to keep the room as germ free as possible.

9.  Homework (a packet) will be sent home on most Mondays, and we collect the homework on every Monday as well. Make sure to work on a little each night so you will be ready to turn the packet in every Friday.

Please feel free to call anytime. The number I can be reached at is (562) 941-3711.

Let’s enter this school year with a positive and happy attitude!

Sincerely,

Ms. Lake
