  • Cut nook Lane / Moorfield Road junction-– there is concern for the junction layout as people coming out from the side road find it difficult to enter the main road.
Location : opposite the Higher Irlam
Social Club / Paul Anderton (Urban Vision) to investigate what mothod of control can be implemented at this junction and issue design brief .
(d) / Dudley Road, Cadishead /
  • Housing currently own the land
  • No action has been taken, although complaints have been received regarding the grass verge
/ Trupti Patel to investigate ownership and request feasibility study.
(e) / Moorfield Parade
Private service road. /
  • Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to be placed for a one-way system and limited waiting for 1-hour , no return within 1 hour to be introduced in Moorefield Parade.
/ Trupti Patel to liase with Mr Hamer to install this scheme
and report back on approximate costing /
  • Trupti has contacted Mr Hamer with an estimated cost. The total scheme cost is approximately, £7000.
Mr Hammer is prepared to pay £3000 leaving a shortfall of £4000.
Funding from devolved budget can not be used to implement schemes as this is a private road.
(2)New Schemes: Maintaining the asset fund (07/08 £10k)
(f) / Addison Road / Grass verge requires attention due to flooding and water drainage / Trupti Patel to liase with Mrs Bailey
(g) / Turner Avenue / Railings / Trupti Patel to liase with Lynn Hulme. Scheme requires costing with full estimates
(h) / Scrutiny / Report implications
  • Tarmac for potholes
  • Street name plates eg Locklands Lane opposite Irlam Community Centre
  • Yellow line markings at Prince’s Park Garden Centre
/ Trupti Patel to provide update on overall highway investment programmes for the area

(i) / Peel Green Roundabout / Clarify plans for traffic schemes at Salford Reds Stadium
(j) / A57 Liverpool Road Strategy / Clarification is needed
Main issues:
  • Freight use on Liverpool Road
  • Brinnell Road traffic lights are needed to regulate right turning movements of large vehicles onto Liverpool Road.
