Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a one year fixed-term post at the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology. This position is funded by Genio and is available from January 2015 to contract end date of December 2015.

In this role you will:

•  Undertake economic and social analysis of Genio dementia programme

•  Undertake quantitative assessments of dementia interventions within the Genio programme

•  Undertake literature reviews of biopsychosocial interventions in dementia

•  Conduct qualitative interviews with relevant stakeholders on the Genio dementia programme

•  Write-up periodic reports on economic and social findings in relation to the Genio dementia programme

•  Present ideas and initial drafts for peer-reviewed publications based on research on Genio dementia programme

Qualifications:

Candidates will have:

•  At least a 2.1 Masters degree in economics or a relevant social science discipline, with a preference for those who can demonstrate experience and knowledge of working in dementia-related research areas

•  Knowledge and appropriate experience of using quantitative approaches to social research, including multivariate statistics and regression analysis

•  It is essential to be familiar with relevant computer software (including MS Office and quantitative data analysis software, e.g. SPSS; STATA)

•  An ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team of researchers

•  A desire to contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publication and presentations

•  Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills

•  High levels of initiative, and commitment to deadlines and team interaction

Salary: €21,850 - €32,930 (Public sector pay policy pertaining to new entrants will apply)

Start date: 1st January 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
