Tabling in DoR areas: Policies and Request form

  1. This policy governs the use of residence hall space by DOR staff, student groups, and University

Departments. Space is not available to non-university groups during the academic year.

  1. Reservations during break periods or before classes start are not allowed until the official first day of class.
  2. If the tabling request is part of a "larger" event, your organization must complete an event authorization request. Information can be found at: If the overall event is not approved by the committee, tabling cannot proceed. If you complete an event authorization form, you do not need to complete the form below.
  3. We will not place a “hold” on table spacein a particular location in anticipation of an approval from the events authorization committee, however most spaces requested can accommodate multiple groups.
  4. A maximum of 4 days can be reserved per reservation/event.
  5. Food cannot be sold in dining/convenience storebuildings as they are exclusive to ISU dining.
  6. Requests to table for political advocacy will be referred to Cathy Brown in FP&M for approval consideration.
  7. Regarding dining entrance areas:
  8. Seasons and Storms dining entrance areas: Tables are not allowed inside the building near the dining line entrance; tables may only be set up outside the physical building.
  9. Conversations dining: a table can be set up inside the glass atrium area inside the doors without impeding traffic, but not in the walk way between the front entrance doors and Conversations stairway door, nor downstairs in the dining area. Outside the building is possible.
  10. UDCC dining: Tables can be downstairs, not upstairs by the dining line. Outside the building is possible.
  11. The Department of Residence does not provide nor set up tables and chairs, however if you find those items near the location where you are located and there is no precipitation in the area you intend to use the items, we are okay with you borrowing them as long as youcarry rather than drag them across the floor, and put them back in the same condition and same location where they were found. The Government of the Student Body has purchased tables and chairs for organizations to check-out and use via the MU event management office.
  12. Tables outside must be at least 10 feet from an entrance/exit/stairway and set off the sidewalk on dry land.
  13. Tables must have people at them at all hours of operation. You may not set up a display and leave.
  14. E-mail the form below to Julie Charlson at:
  15. Please tape a copy of your approval form on your table so it is clear you have approval.

Form: Complete this section ONLY if you are not already submitting an event authorization request
