How to apply

  1. Fill in the application form, equal opportunities monitoring form, sign the terms and conditions and send to:

  1. Applications will be selected on a first come first served basis. We will call and/or email applicants to let them know if they have received a place on the course.
  1. The full fee for the course is £500. To confirm your place you must pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 and the outstanding balance must be paid at least two weeks prior to the course commencing.
  1. We can accept applications at any time before the start date of the course. However if you apply less than two weeks before the start date of the course the full fee will be payable immediately.
  1. Please ensure that you have read and signed the terms and conditions. We will not accept an application that is not signed and dated.
  1. All participants on Introduction to Acting have the opportunity to apply for Standard Membership of the Actors Centre on completion of the course.

Standard Membership

Actors Centre Standard Membership is for actors still making secure professional links with the industry and/or building their CV through professional work. This membership type is suited to emerging or returning actors, or those with limited experience.

To be considered for Standard Membership you must tick the box on the application form. Standard Membership will be offered to those who meet a level of ability, professionalism and potential assessed by our tutors.

Standard Membership costs £75 per 12 months / £50 per 6 months.

What will my standard Membership include?

  • Access to our excellent seasonal programme of workshops and courses.

(Access is defined by your membership type.)

  • Full access to the Green Room Café with the right to sign in up to 4 guests at any one time.
  • Access to mentorship and guidance from our Membership Team.
  • Access to our Actors Centre Membership Perks Scheme. (Terms & Conditions Apply)
  • Full access to in-house room and theatre hire discounts.
  • Concession rate tickets to Tristan Bates Theatre productions.
  • Membership Card (needed to redeem some Actors Centre Membership Perks Scheme offers)
  • Networking opportunities with all members.
  • Regular news bulletins and member events throughout the year.
  • Representation on the Actors Centre Members Committee.

Payment Agreement

I understand that I will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 to book my place on the course and that I must pay the balance of the course fee at least 2 weeks before the course starts. I understand that if I fail to pay the full course feeI will not be eligible to attend the first class.

The Actors Centre will contact you to offer you a place and take your deposit or the full course fee.
Your place will only be reserved once payment of the deposit has been received. Your place on the course is not fully booked until the entire course fee has been received.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF INTRODUCTION TO ACTING

Professional Conduct

  • The Actors Centre reserves the right to refuse or withdraw applications from the Introduction to Acting.
  • Violence, abuse or harassment of any form – verbal or physical, damage to equipment or premises or any form of illegal activity will not be tolerated on the premises. Anyone engaging in any such activities will be asked to leave the course and no refund of course fees will be given.
  • Participants attend workshops at their own risk. Please note the Actors Centre cannot take responsibility for any items brought to, or left on the premises.
  • The tutors have the right to remove individuals from classes where their behaviour is deemed to be detrimental to the quality of the session for the majority.
  • Please arrive on time for classes as latecomers may not be admitted.
  • The Actors Centre makes every effort to ensure that details about classes are correct, but we reserve the right to make changes without notice.
  • Food or drink may not to be consumed in any studios.

Payment, Fees andCancellations

  • To book a place on the course applicants must pay a non-refundable deposit of £100. Once they have accepted and been booked on the course the outstanding amount is due no less than 2 weeks prior to the course commencing. The Actors Centre reserves the right to refuse participants entry to class on the first day if fees have not been paid.
  • Payment must be by cash, credit or debit card only. The Actors Centre does not accept cheques.
  • Cancellation of a place on the course must be done at least 3 working days before the course commences, whereupon you will be refunded £400. No refund is available for cancellation after this time.
  • If a course is booked within 2 weeks of its commencement date the whole amount is due to confirm the booking.
  • No refund will be available if you miss the first day of a course and the tutor refuses to accept you for the remainder.
  • If you cannot attend a class you must call reception on 020 3841 6600 so that the tutor can be informed.
  • Places are not transferable between courses.
