RESOLUTION NO. 80-2013

INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR ROBERT BLOMQUIST AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE

A RESOLUTION HONORING KENNETH FILLMORE GILLFOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS AND EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY.

WHEREAS, Kenneth Gill was a longtime resident and dedicated participant in the life andaffairs of the City of Olmsted Falls; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Gill was named the Citizen of the Year in Olmsted Falls in 1987 in acknowledgement of his participation in all phases of life and activities in his chosen city of residence; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Gill was elected to serve on the Olmsted Falls Board of Education for over 20 years where he also served on the Polaris Vocational School Board and the Board for Strategic Planning for the Olmsted Falls School System; and

WHEREAS,Kenneth Gill became a model for his philosophy of the joy of lifelong learning; and;

WHEREAS, Kenneth Gill, even in retirement, donated hours as a reading tutor, computer instruction and Junior Achievement facilitator for the Olmsted Falls Schools; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Gill donated his time, knowledge and expertise to the City of Olmsted Falls by his many years of service on the Olmsted Falls Shade Tree Commission; and

WHEREAS,Kenneth Gill will be sorely missed for his dedication to the residents of Olmsted Falls regardless of their age or status. Now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, STATE OF OHIO, THAT:

SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council on behalf of all residents of the City of Olmsted Falls do hereby express our sorrow, condolences and thanks to the family of Kenneth Fillmore Gill and extend our heartfelt sympathy for our communal loss.

SECTION 2. The Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be spread upon the records of the City of Olmsted Falls and shall issue a duplicate copy of this Resolution to the Family of Kenneth Fillmore Gill in memory of his service to and accomplishment for the residents of the City of Olmsted Falls.

SECTION 3.This Resolution shall take effect at the earliest time allowed by law.
