English / We will revise phase 3 and look at phase 4 letters and sounds phonics as well as letter names. In handwriting we will understand which letters belong to which families and practise them.
We will write sentences using capital letters and full stops, reading our work back and checking that it makes sense.

Maths / We will be reading and writing numbers to 20.We will be investigating addition as a combination of two sets and subtraction as take away.We will learn about odd and even numbers and number patterns. Science / Our topic is “Everyday Materials.” We will be naming materials and describing their properties and making comparisons. / Our topic is “Animals, including humans.” We will be naming the parts of the human body and learning about the five senses. We will begin to look at seasonal changes. / Our topic is “Seasonal Changes.” We will be looking at how day length varies. We will be learning about light and dark. / Our topic is “Seasonal Changes.” We will be observing the changes across the four seasons. / Our topic is “Plants.” We will be identifying and naming a range of common, wild and garden plant and trees. Computing / We will be reinforcing the importance of internet safety. We will be developing skills in word processing as well as reinforcing other curriculum areas by using the Internet. We will be developing our mouse control skills to draw pictures using Dazzle and computer programmes. / We will be reinforcing the importance of internet safety. Geography / We will be looking at the local area around our school and learning how to say and write our name and address. / We will be learning about the U.K. We will learn about the four parts of the U.K., capital cities and the oceans that surround the U.K. We will be learning to use and make our own maps using a key and compass. / We will be learning about the geographical features of seaside. We will name the different parts of the seaside and compare and contrast the seaside with a town.
Art & Design / We will be investigating materials and using them in collage activities. We will collect natural materials that can be used for sculptures and collages.
