John Beaton and Henry Dyckman were reportedly the first to find gold on Christmas Day in 1908. Between 1909 and 1925, nearly 35 millian in gold was taken from this area.

The towers can have anywhere from 5-10 levels of people.

Groups make Castellers as part of annual festivals, but there is a competition that occurs every 2 years. This competition is the only time the human towers are made for competitive purposes.

They have created magazines and are often the topic of newspaper article. They have also developed and created protective equipment specific to building these towers. The also have a very large internet fan base that follows the different towns Castellers.
