Survey Assignment

Please read the following directions to complete the assignment:

1.  Log into a computer/Open your Internet connection/Select Student tab

2. Select Counseling & Career Centers/High School Counseling/Career Cruising

3.  Enter your Username and Password (Teacher assigned)

4.  Click on the Assessment Tab at the top of the screen and select Career Matchmaker.

5.  Assessment will begin once you click on the Start button (bottom right corner of question):

  1. Answer questions – focus on what you would like to do in the future, not only what you’re able to do right now. There aren’t any right or wrong answers – just be yourself. **Note: If you have previously done part of this test, you need to check if you answered all 116 questions or review your answers.

6.  After the first 39 questions, save your answers to your portfolio. Then, answer more questions by clicking on the link Answer more questions located under the Improve Results section.

7.  Answer the next 46 questions, save your answers to your portfolio. Then, answer more questions by clicking on the link Answer more questions located under the Improve Results section.

8.  Answer the next 31 questions, save your answers to your portfolio. Then, answer more questions by clicking on the link Answer more questions located under the Improve Results section.

9.  Once questions are completed, a screen with your top Interest areas will appear on the left side of the screen. Take a few minutes and review the list.

10.  Now complete the 45 My Skills questions by clicking on the link Complete my skills. Again your top Interest areas will appear on the left side of the screen. Take a few minutes and review the list.

11.  Click the Printer Friendly Version Button on top right of screen. Once the preview appears on the screen, copy this screen/information.

12.  Create a google doc and paste your top interest areas on your new google doc.

13.  Choose your top five careers that would match your interests and underline your chosen five careers on the left side of your printout. Note: The careers at the top of the list are the most suitable for you based upon your assessment answers. Read through those possible five career choices by clicking on the career links that you chose – you can research things like the job description, the working conditions, the earnings, and the education needed for this job. After researching top five careers, in your google doc put in writing your top 5 careers from list: search & record expected earnings, required education and working conditions.

14.  Share your google doc with your teacher. Document should be titled:
