For those of you who missed the Annual Prize Giving and AGM I would like to reiterate what was said
The Silverton Pony Club has had an active and successful year. Without the Committee none of this would have been possible, so a big thank you to all the committee members. I don’t like singling out any particular people, but there are three that need special commendation. Firstly, Rebecca Wharton who is often the first call of new members, as the membership secretary – always a welcoming and helpful voice. Secondly, Michelle Cottrell who is the very patient treasurer and manages to produce reliable accounts having been given money in all forms. And the third person is of course Louise Honan who puts all the rallies together.
Thank you also all the parents, so many people give so much help to keep the branch going for all the members. Thank you also to all our instructors.
This has been a good team year, with some notable individuals. Firstly, the Tet teams, ably looked after by Steven Slade, Julie Dart and Felicity Hine, are a force to be reckoned with, they always come home with ribbons. The Mounted Games team - Alice Bailey, Megan Bailey, Rachel Brown and Rebecca Gibbins - did exceptionally well and always looked impeccable. The Novice Challege dressage team won the Area competition, The Intermediate Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing teams all won through to Championships where they were all successful.
We had a successful and enjoyable camp at Bicton. Camp is heavily subsidised, as you will see on the attached accounts. The Fund raising done over the year means that Camp can be priced for everyone, rather than at cost price. So we do always need help at our Open events. The next one is our One Day Event at Pontispool on Sunday 1st June - jobs for everyone, dressage writing, stewarding, scoring, jump judging etc etc.
Our treasurer, Michelle Cottrell, was unable to attend but the Accounts to the end of 2012 are attached.
I was very generously given a present from all the members, thank you all very much for this gorgeous smelly candle and bottles of Sauternes. My husband is a big fan of Sauternes and this will help to keep him on side too!
