Registration

The participants are requested to pre-register by filling registration form and sending by fax or email to the organizers. Based on the duly completed pre-registration forms received by the organizers, name badges will be issued on site. Participants will be required to reconfirm their registration at the registration desk of the meeting on the first day of the seminar/workshop between 08:00 and 09:00 am.

Opening Session

The official opening of the Aviation Medicine Workshop will take place on 13 October at 09.00 a.m. The formal workshop/seminar will be held daily from 08.30 a.m.

Languages

The seminar/workshop will be carried in English and French.

Transportation

Transport will be provided from the Kigali International Airport to the hotel (at arrival and departure) and from hotels to the seminar venue. Participant need to provide their flight number, arrival date and time. This information should be forwarded to the above persons through email.

Visas

All foreigners visiting Rwanda must have a visitor’s visa. A valid passport or other travel document (valid not less than six months).

In view of the bilateral agreements, the Nationals of the following Countries may visit Rwanda without visa for a period up to 90 days: USA, Germany, Canada, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, Mauritius, South Africa, Kenya, Great Britain, Sweden, Singapore, Hong Kong and Burundi.

Those who are not exempt should apply for visas online by visiting www.migration.gov.rw and click on “Public Forms” for entry visa. Participants can obtain visa upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport against the payment of USD 60 or EURO 50.

Health

Yellow fever certificate is not mandatory.

Weather and local time information

The general climate for the Rwanda is tropical. During the period from October, there is a period of cold weather and a very rainy season, the lowest temperature being 12ºC and highest temperature being 22 ºC.

Kigali local time is GMT+2. It is fixed across the country.

Local Currency and Foreign Exchanges Rates

The official currency is Rwandan franc (RWF). The current exchange parity has currently set at the fixed rated of US$1 = 565 RWF and €1 = 826 RWF.

American dollars and EURO are accepted in many places. Exchange is easily available in the banks and exchange agencies (Forex Bureau). Credit cards and traveller’s cheques are accepted in most establishments. Most shops and hotels accept Visa Cards.

Language

The official language of the Country is English, French and Kinyarwanda.

Hours of business

The working week in Rwanda runs from Monday to Friday (0700-1700hrs) with Saturday and Sunday being the holydays.

Local voltage is 220/240 V 50 Hz
