COUNTRIES: This workshop is designed for countries of Eastern and Central European operating, upgrading or wanting to put in place new waste management facilities

PARTICIPATION: The workshop is open to 24 participants.

LANGUAGE: The workshop will be held in English

PURPOSE OF

THE WORKSHOP: The workshop is organized for managers of waste facilities to obtain information on the best practices, technologies and solutions for design, construction, licensing and operation of waste facilities in the region. The special focus of the workshop will be devoted to the modular approach for processing and storage as well as on the use of mobile technologies. Workshop will also integrate approaches for alignment of development of safety case and licensing applications with choice of technical option for modular/mobile processing and storage.

PARTICIPANTS

QUALIFICATIONS: The participants should be managers either operators or designers or regulators in charge of waste processing or storage facilities, responsible for implementation of waste management practices.

NATURE OF THE

WORKSHOP: The workshop will consist of review presentations provided by invited experts, followed by on spot exercise to develop design specification for processing and storage facilities. The workshop will have appropriate time allocation for status reports of participants nominated by participating countries, panel discussions of key issues, identified as important in the frame of the workshop subject.
