Committee Function
The Intercultural Events Committee will ensure collaboration on the planning of District-wide intercultural events and activities. This includes developing a strategically planned District calendar of these events, awareness months and other activities that complement academics and encourage the advancement and appreciation of the arts. The purpose of the InterMulticultural Events Committee is to sponsor initiate,support and make funding recommendations to the Dean of Student Affairs and Engagement Programs or designee regardingcultural events that promotethe inclusionawareness and appreciation of diversity.and an awareness of a wide variety ofparticularcultural and ethnic group or an event significant to aethnic groups. The committee’sgoal is to provideenrichingthe educational experiences for thecampusDistrict and the community at large throughby providing activities that recognize and empower the cultural contributionsof the various ethnic groupsof reflected in the ethnic diversity of theSRJC’s vibrant college campus community. Activities and events will be held in collaboration coordinated with the Arts and Lectures Committeeother District standing committees.
