·  Minutes of last meeting agreed as a true record
5. Forest School Training Grant
·  3 members have applied to do level 2 training. This approved by Kim
·  The school MUST have a qualified level 3 practitioner before they can attend the course.
6. Project
·  Date for event set for event – 16th September 2011 at Riverside Centre
·  Activities and workshop ideas were discussed.
·  Setting up forest school site, Bushcraft, Willow weaving, Foraging, Fire, forest school activities were decided as workshops
·  Timing – One 2hr session between 2-4pm and two 1hr sessions between 4-30 -6-30pm
·  Finance – FEI has £942, Arena Pontardawe around £300, Playworks…! Providing Jo’s time and Groundwork can cover any other costs (within reason!)
·  Roles – Amy and Gail meet over half term to sort out costings, providers and advertising. Jo to help with booking for and posters.

·  Encouraging first hand learning opportunities

·  Increasing environmental understanding

·  Promoting wood as a sustainable resource

·  Developing emotional and physical well being

The Forest Education Initiative is a partnership between the Forestry Commission, the Timber Trade Federation, the Community Forests, ConFor, the Tree Council, BTCV, Groundwork, the Field Studies Council and the Woodland Trust (Registered Charity Number 294344) who facilitate the initiative on behalf of the partners.
