RADIO CONTROLLED CLOCK
This unit works on receiving the time radio signal. The time signal is generated by the US Atomic Clock which is located in Colorado. The Atomic Clock is operated by the US Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology. To enhance good reception, avoid placing the unit near television sets, metal surfaces, computers or electric devices as this type of equipment will interfere with the reception of the radio signal.

Battery Replacement
The unit uses 2x AAA (or equivalent) batteries. When the digital display becomes dim, please replace both batteries with new ones. To install the batteries, open the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit. Insert the batteries by following the polarity marked and then close the battery cover. The unit is ready for use now.
Selecting the appropriate time zone
Under normal time display, press the SET button (which is at the back of the unit) three times to enter the Time Zone Selection Mode. The display will show “H – “ with the last number showing time zone selected previously (it will show “H-0” right after battery installation) Select the appropriate time zone by pushing the HOUR button to increase the number or NIN button to decrease. In most cases, the time zone fo the unit needs to be set twice a year: when changing from normal time to daylight saving time and when changing from DST back to normal time. After setting the appropriate time zone, press the SET button once to return to normal time display. Please follow the next section to initiate the time radio signal reception.
Receiving the time radio signal
Press and hold the SET button to initiate the time radio signal reception. The radio signal mark on the right of the time display will animate to show the receiving status. The SET button now can be released. If the time signal is received, synchronization will take 3-10 minutes and the unit will show the current time.
Setting the time and alarm
Since the unit works on receiving the time radio signal, there may be locations that the signal is weak and cannot be properly received. Under such circumstances, the radio signal mark will show an icon of a triangle without waves emitting from it. Try to rotate the unit or place it in another location to achieve better reception and repeat the process in the section ‘Receiving the time radio signal. If the radio signal is still not received, time should be set manually. Press the SET button under normal time display. The hour and minute digits will flash and the clock is in time setting mode. Press the HR and MIN button to advance the Hour and Minute respectively. Press and hold the button for fast advance.
After setting the time, press SET button once will bring the unit into alarm setting mode. The hour and minute digits will flash (the “:” not flashing) Press the HR and MIN button to advance the Alarm Hour and Alarm Minute respectively. Press and hold the button for fast advance.
After setting the alarm time, press the SET button twice and the unit will go back to the normal time display.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Under normal conditions, the unit needs no time setting. To bypass the time setting mode and go to alarm setting mode directly, please pres the SET button twice under normal time display.
If time is set manually, then the time zone need not be set.
Alarm on/off and snooze
To toggle the alarm on or off, press the HR button under normal time display. The alarm flag will be shown to indicate that the alarm function is on. When the time reaches the alarm time, an alarm sound will be emitted for about 1 minute. To stop the alarm, press the HR or SET button To bring the alarm into snooze mode, press the MIN button and the alarm will sound again and 8 minutes.
Attention: There will be certain places (especially near the eastern coast) that the radio signal is too weak to be received. Under such circumstances, please set the time manually.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please select the appropriate time zone when the Radio Controlled Clock is still in radio signal receiving status (i.e. when the radio signal mark is pulsing). If the time zone is selected after synchronization stopped (the radio signal mark will display three solid curves), the time will not be changed to the current time zone and the clock will display incorrect time for your area.
- When changing from daylight saving time to standard and vice versa, please select the appropriate timezone first, and then re-initiate the radio signal reception by pressing and holding the SET button until the radio signal mark starts pulsing.
