Admission Requirements

Admission to University of Nairobi is a straight forward process.

The Centre for International Programmes & Links (CIPL) assists potential international applicants with admission to various programmes depending on their academic background.

Accommodation

University has limited accommodation space for students. Depending on student’s needs, on campus or off campus accommodation can be arranged.

Library Services

The University Library System composes the Main library and 13 college and branch libraries spread out in various campuses of the university.

Health Services

Quality healthcare of international standard is provided to the University community. Foreign students are advised to purchase medical insurance on arrival because medical fees payable during students registration does not cater for hospital admission or inpatient.

Approximately US$ 800 per month for international students

Safety

The University compound is relatively safe but it is advisable to avoid walking alone in back streets of the City of Nairobi during day and at night

It is also advisable not to adorn valuables or use you mobile phone while walking in the streets.

Religion

The places of worship e.g churches, mosques and temples are found in nearby areas of the city of Nairobi and are within easy reach from the University hostels

Transport

The road network is well developed and extensive with an efficient road transport system. Well established bus companies with comfortable coaches ply between the various towns and cities. However

within the City of Nairobi there are numerous reliable taxi services.

English is the official language in Kenya and the national language is Kiswahili
