Suggestions for improving the Strategic Plan and the Benchmarks from 2001-2002

The benchmarks and the strategic plan need to be fluid documents that can be changed over time. The benchmarks need to be related to the goals and work plan of the Cabinet.

·  The Strategic Plan needs to be more user-friendly and accessible to deans and directors

·  The Benchmarks need to reflect the Goals of Student Services.

·  Goal # 7 needs to be divided into two goals – Assessment and Resource Management.

·  Benchmarks that have been achieved need to be removed and replaced with new benchmarks.

In 2002-2003,

·  The Strategic Plan was redesigned so that Deans and Directors could access the document on-line.

Carol Koepke and Margo Harder are continuing to work on the document in 2003-4 to make it more user-friendly and more accessible so that Deans and Directors can enter data on-line.

·  Goal #7 was divided into Goal #7 and Goal #8 (in 2002-3).

·  The Benchmarks Sub-Committee is working on revising the Benchmarks in 2003-2004.

·  Karen Foss and MOSS (Managers of Student Services) are working on the Goals and Benchmarks related to the Goals of Student Services.
