Installing Citrix Receiver:Home or office desktop or laptop(Windows or MAC)

Introduction:

Thisdocument provides instructions for connecting to Broward Health supported applications from devices that are outside of Broward Health’s network. This includes laptops and desktop computers that may be at home or in physician practices. These instructions will detail the steps needs to install the Citrix Receiver software and configure the proper settings for connection.

Instructions:

  1. The following process works for both Windows and MAC computers.
    First,download and install the Citrix Receiver from the following website:
    The website intuitively determines what the proper Citrix version is for your computer.

Special note for Windows computers: After the download completes, please click on “Run” where indicated and the install will then begin.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and go to to get the login prompt.
  2. Enter your Broward Health login credentialsin the fields shown.
  3. Select the “Add Apps” icon in the middle of the page or the (+) sign on the left of the screen to add applications if you don’t have any listed.
  4. Begin to select your applications to populate the desktop.
  5. Your applications will start to populate the desktop as you select them.
  6. To add EEG application, select Natus Database from AllApps

Notes: when you double click the Natus Database icon, the application will open up and you will get following window/prompt. Please make sure to check ‘Do not ask me again for this site’and then select ‘Permit user’.

  1. Once the applications are selected, choose the drop down arrow right next to your name above the screen. Select Activate from the menu.
  2. The activate option will download a file and ask you to open it. Please select the Open button to open the configuration file.
  3. Choose the Add button when a second window appears.

  1. Enter your Broward Health username and password in the fields. Select the “Remember my password”if you do not want to be prompted by the Citrix Receiver to logon when you try to launch the application the next time.

  1. Your Citrix Receiver configuration is nowcomplete.You will now be able to access your applications through the desktop icon that looks similar to the following:


  1. You will now be able to access your applications without having to go through your browser.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you are using a Windows computer and are having trouble opening the Citrix Receiver or using it to launch applications,AND have previously installed an older version of the Citrix Client, you may need to uninstall the older version. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. On Windows 7 computers, open Control Panel, Programs & Features, Uninstall or Change a Program. On Windows XP computers, open Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs
  1. Right click on the Citrix Client and select “Uninstall”. Windows will begin removing the software from your computer
  2. When the software removal has completed, Open My Computer, C:\Program Files. If there is a Citrix folder here, right click and delete it.
  3. Next, remove any registry keys from the old Citrix install. NOTE: Improperly editing the registry can cause damage to your system. It is strongly recommended that you back up your computer and/or registry before proceeding. Go to Start, Run and type in “regedit”

  1. When the Registry Editor opens, navigate to Hkey_Local_Machine\Software, right click on the Citrix Folder and select Delete to remove the entire key:
  1. Exit the Registry Editor by clicking on File, Exit.
  1. Before attempting to re-install the Citrix Receiver, it is very important that you restart your computer.
  1. Return to the start of this document, and follow the instructions for installing the Citrix Receiver.
