Information Services provides Library and IT services to the University’s staff and students. It consists of 3 sections:

Academic and Learner Services, which develops and delivers integrated information services to our student, academic and professional service users.

Information Infrastructure Services, which develops and manages the reliable, resilient, high performance IT infrastructure and information systems the University requires.

Resource and Facility Services, which develops and manages our collections and learning spaces to meet the needs of the University and its communities.

These posts are located within Academic & Learner Services, which comprises various services, including:

Job Description

To assist service users to locate, borrow and use printed and electronic resources from the Library in support of their learning and research and to provide basic IT assistance (e.g. printing and scanning)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·  assisting readers with routine enquiries and accessing resources

·  assisting readers to use equipment, including self-issue machines, PCs and photocopiers

·  issue and return of library material

·  basic administrative tasks

·  shelving and shelf tidying

·  assisting with monitoring of library space

Tuesday 16.45 – 22.00
Sunday 16.30 - 20.15
Post 2:
Saturday 13.15 -20.15
The posts are semester only (September – December and January – May)
33 weeks / 31 weekends
Please note: Assisting in the staffing of the Library at other hours may be required from time to time. Therefore post holders should aim to be flexible in relation to hours of work. / Please indicate in your application which of the posts you are applying for

Grade/Salary Range: Grade 3 £15,765 - £17,528 per annum pro rata
Pension Scheme: LGS
Annual leave: 28 days plus Buildings Closed days (pro rata)

Person Specification
