In yesterday’s Mid-State 3A Cross Country Conference Meet held at Lake Cammock in Alamance County both the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams turned in excellent performances. The men finished fourth to Northern Guilford, Eastern Alamance, and Western Alamance by a total of 24 points. Jack Pinnix, Matt Chilton, and Cason Pyrtle were the top three finishers for the Cougars. Pinnix placed 10th and Chilton was 11thout of 49 runners. Pyrtle finished 18th. Pack runners Mitchell Barker, Matthew Barker, Chase Haley, and Holden Joyce rounded out the top seven runners for the men’s team. The Lady Cougars finished second to Northern Guilford in the women’s race. Bethany Denson, Hailey Rizza, Claire Boaz, and Christa Shreve finished in the top 15 of 47 runners. Pack runners Taylors Haynes, Peyton Tucker, and Ashleigh Andresen finished 16th, 17th, and 18th respectively.Jack Pinnix, Matthew Chilton, Bethany Denson, Hailey Rizza, Claire Boaz, and Christa Shreve all earned All-Conference Honors. In the JV Race, Tyrell Mims finished first for the Cougars taking 10th place out of 30 runners.

Any student who is interested in participating in Students of Promise need to see Mrs. Wiggins in guidance. Students must have GPA of at least 3.0, and be willing to commit 25 hours of service time.

Student Council is sponsoring a Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday October 28th from 4:00 until 6:00pm in the senior parking lot. Bring your cars and candy to give out. There will be games, face painting, and prizes for the top three best decorated cars. Sign up in the office.

Seniors if you are interested in applying to or learning more about UNC-Charlotte, there will be a admissions rep here today during remediation. See Ms. Bulls for more information.

Underclass pictures will be taken on Tuesday, October 24th. Order forms will go out on Friday.

Seniors: There will be a FAFSA Night at RCHS tonightfrom 5:30-7:00. Parents are encouraged to come get assistance in filling out forms for Financial Aid. You or your parent will need to bring 2016 Tax Documents, 2016 W-2, and the completed FAFSA Pre-Fill Form as able. See Ms. Bulls if you have any questions.

If you are interested in taking dual-enrollment courses through RCC in the Spring for 2nd semester, please contact your Counselor ASAP.

Camp Hope is a free one-day camp for teens coping with lossdesigned to develop a trusting atmosphere so students can safelyaddress experiences & feelings related to their grief. Teens will work with trainedvolunteers and together they will participate in team building courses, art projects,discussion times, and making tie dye t-shirts. Sessions will be led by qualifiedHospice staff, from Rockingham County Schools, and professionalsfrom Annie Penn Hospital. Please see your Counselor if you are interested in more information.
