Children and Their Safety are Important at Chestnut Hill UMC

We rejoice that as a church we are able to offer carefully planned, age appropriate care and activities for our children and youth.

Today, children ages 4 and above will stay in the sanctuary for worship.

Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. The Nursery is located in Classroom 101 (exit through the right side door at the front of the sanctuary, pass through “the Commons,” go through the double doors to the Education Building and follow the hallway to the Nursery at the end of the hall on the left).

Prelude The Acolytes enter with the light of Christ.

*Call to Worship

Let us come together all who would serve the God of Abraham and Moses.

And by what name did Abraham or Moses serve?

The Great I AM, the Almighty God, Creator of all the Universe!

And are we, who are so small, known by the Creator of the Universe?

Hear the word Christ came to bring: God knows us and loves us each one.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

*Singing Our Faith # 144 “This Is My Father’s World”

Morning Prayer

O God, only in Your Kingdom can what seems so small be so powerful. Even things as small as a mustard seed can become mighty and great. Lord, give us the faith of a tiny seed. In Christ we pray. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Everyone invited to participate!
It doesn’t get much more dramatic: rescued baby, life in the courts of Pharaoh, parting the Red Sea, leading his people out of Egypt…
Moses’ life was one challenge after the next, but although he resisted God’s calling, by the end of his life he successfully fulfilled the role he was given. Join award-winning author Adam Hamilton as he travels from Egypt to Mt. Sinai, the Nile, the Red Sea, and the wilderness exploring the sites of Moses’ life. As Hamilton shares historical information, archaeological data, and biblical text, you’ll gain a better understanding of Moses’ significance in your life today, and you’ll discover how you, too, can turn your own reluctance into boldness. This six-week study offers videos featuring Hamilton in the holy land at the sites where Moses walked. Join us and bring a friend.
