The School Play – Tamara Entwistle
This year, I was the director of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Mrs Grayson, our drama teacher, helped me. We chose the play in March. We wanted to do Shakespeare and Mrs Grayson said everyone would like Julius Caesar because it’s exciting.
We planned to do the play outside but it rained on the first performance on 1st June. So we had to do it in the sports hall.
The second performance on 2nd June was outdoors. The audience loved it and, afterwards, we gave some flowers to Mrs Grayson to say ‘thank you’.
We did auditions in April. Then we started rehearsals. In May, the rehearsals were almost finished, but there was a problem. Richard Morris was playing Brutus, but he was hopeless at acting so we needed a new actor! Luckily, Jim Marlow agreed to play the role and he was great!
