Improving Numeracy Outcomes Project
Expression of Interest
Primary and Secondary Education invites schools to submit an expression of interest for the Improving Numeracy Outcomes Project. The project aims to support schools to develop targeted programs for numeracy based on the mathematics continuum of learning outcomes in the NSW Mathematics K-10 syllabus across Stages 2 to 5.
School teams analyse NAPLAN data, identify areas of focus and develop teaching and learningactivities for numeracy programs. Resources will be made available for allNSW Public Schools as illustrations of practice.
Principalsare asked to nominate two teachers to participate in this Stage 2 to 5 project.Selected teacherswill attend a conference on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September 2016 at Rydges World Square, Sydney. There will be two designated writing days at school and a one day workshop during Term 4.
Other information:
A selection panel will review each expression of interest and notify successful schools by email on Friday 27 May 2016. Each successful school will be provided with a grant of up to $5000. Project Schools receive targeted professional learning to analyse data, write targeted learning and teaching programs to support numeracy.
Eligibility
- Principal approval and senior executive support
- Teacher commitment to participate and complete the project successfully
- Teacher commitment to complete the development of numeracy programs, with teaching and learning activities by the deliverable date
Schools will be required to complete the Expression of Interest Document.
