Dear Parents,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Linda Minard and I am honored to be your child’s second grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. I am excited to have your child in my classroom this year. I am looking forward to the many educational, fun, and rewarding experiences that we will encounter and strive towards together.

I began teaching at Queen of the Rosary School in 1997. My husband and I live in Schaumburg, and we have two children - Jimmy, who recently turned eighteen years old and Lindsay, who is seven years old. Jimmy is an incoming freshman at Northern Illinois University majoring in music education, and Lindsay is in Ms. Petric’s second grade class.

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me a note, email me at (), or call me at (847-437-3322). I will also do my part by sending out a newsletter each week to update you on what we have been doing in class as well as things that are coming up. For individual concerns, I will contact you by phone, send a note home, or email you. Please also log onto my Schoolnotes site at to see what is happening in second grade.
Please feel free to participate in your child’s second grade year as much as you are able to. Helping hands are always needed. Whether it is reading a story to the class, helping with field trips or class parties, art appreciation, recess time, or any other participation, your child will be greatly impacted.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year with you and your child!
Sincerely,

Mrs. Linda Minard

Welcome to second grade!

Dear Second Grader,

Hello! My name is Mrs. Minard, and I will be your teacher this year. I am very excited that you are in my class! We are going to learn a lot of new things and have fun.

I have been busy getting the classroom ready for our first day of school together. I have been putting your name on your new desk and locker, decorating the bulletin boards, and putting your new books in your desk.

This year we will learn to write in cursive, read chapter books, and learn how to add and subtract with regrouping. We will also be preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist

I look forward to seeing you at school on Thursday. Don’t forget to bring your SMILES! See you soon!

Love,

Mrs. Minard
