  1. A Powerful ReasonThis reason, like the purpose, is threefold,

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
  • Because of His FAITHFULNESS.
  • It is His to maintain
  • Because of His POWER.
  • Psalms 9:5 (King James Version)
Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

  • "shall flow away in the day of His wrath " (Job. 20:28).
  • Heathenthoughts and practices are rebuked in the presence of the Lord.
  • Because of His MERCY.
  • Psalms 9:10 (King James Version)
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
  • God, power are within the reach of the wholehearted seeker
  1. An Inspiring HopeThis is—
  • Psalms 9:7 (King James Version)
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
  • The Hope of ENDURANCE.
  • The blessings of God's grace are as lasting as God Himself
  • As long as He endures, His redeemed ones are safe in the arm of the lord
  • The Hope of SALVATION
  • Psalms 9:9 (King James Version)
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
